Hi,

I have tried to install PA 5 times and each time I get the same error or the game looks like it will start but I can not get past the first 3 windows where all of the selections are made.

I installed the game as outlined in the instructions and I get stuck in the first parts of the game. Then I tried the installation outline by the old man:
Clean install of SH II
I do not rename shII. It makes it easier installing the patches
install P.A. "cd"
install P.A. V1.1
install Vickers Mods (oil slick, smoke etc.)
install sound pack ver. 2
install arlo waves=they get the stowaway off the boat
install see thru menus
install seedlers sun, land, sky mod
install sboat mod
& I add this to the start window

I have PA RC 4 1.0 and the PA patch 1.1, I made a donation and the file i downloaded was the PA RC4 1.0 version then I downloaded the update patch PA1.1.
I have the CD Silent Hunter II which I install and the the official update patch 1.1 released by the game company UBI.
I have two Vickers mods fireball,oil slick.
I can not find sound pack ver.2,seedlers sun,land,skymod or Arlo Waves????????????

I have a ATI Radeon Pro 256mb, pentium 2.0, 512 ram.

The Career option is not listed any where for Pacific Aces after my installation is complete..??

What files do I need for this game mod?
What order do I use?
Do I need the SubSim HiRes 1024 mod?

You have the install messed up.. Try this:

First make a clean install of SH2, and name the folder Pacific Aces or whatever name you prefer.

1. Install the official 1.1 patch

2. If you wish, you can now install Vicker's mods ( PA does not provide this)

3. If you wish, you can now install Projekt Messerswetzer ( PA does not provide this)

4. Install Pacific Aces from the executable utility, pointing to your Pacific Aces folder. (The one off the CD... RC4)

5. Install the Pacific Aces 1.1 patch. (available Here 42.6Mb)

6. Install the PA1.1 GlitchFix Pack (2.4 Megs)

7. Install the Slide Menu Here (176.4Kb)

8. If you want, install the PA sound patch (13.7 Megs)

Where finds these files:

ok, first, do not advance past the PA steps, be sure the game is working first.

1. make a clean install of SH2

2. Install the official 1.1 patch

3. Install Pacific Aces from the executable utility, pointing to your SH2 folder. (The one off the CD... RC4)

5. Install the Pacific Aces 1.1 patch. (available Here 42.6Mb)

Make sure the game is working properly and you are not getting any runtime errors before installing other stuff.

I don't know where those files come from, I can check on that. They do not sound familiar.

Projekt Messerswetzer: this is mainly for multiplayer

PA should work already just with:

-Clean SH2 install from your CD
-Official SH2 patch from ubi
-PA RC4 install

NOTE!!! that the auto installer for PA will attempt to create its own path/folder so be careful when you give the installer the path of your clean Sh2 install. Check the path indicated in the window and if necessary delete/correct manually any wrong reference :ping:

I followed your instructions to the letter, I did not rename the SHII file to Pacific Aces. I only have one copy of Silent Hunter II on my hard drive, if an installation fails I remove all of the game including short cuts and files.
After installing I found that I had two Icons for Pacific Aces on my desk top and one Icon for Silent Hunter II. When I load Pacific Aces using either Icon I get a few selections, one is the option to Create a Mission and I can go through the steps to create the mission, but when I click ok nothing happens. The Career Option is not offered any where and I can play a saved mission that is part of the installation program, however I noticed that top speed for my Gato was 17 knots on the serface and I can not use the periscope at any depth.

Any suggestion?

Hello Anyone that can HELP,

I followed your instructions also and again I received the same results, I followed the instructions to the letter also.

When I install the PA RC4 the mod wants to install to the Silent Hunter II folder and I change this to install into the renamed folder Pacific Aces.

I do a fresh install of Silent Hunter II then rename the folder to Pacific Aces, then I install the Official UBI Patch 1.1 and it creates a new Silent Hunter II folder inside the SSI folder, at that point I have two folders inside the SSI folder the renamed folder Pacific Aces and the Silent Hunter folder created by the UBI 1.1 Patch.
The I install the PA RC4 patch and correct the path so it installs into the Pacific Aces folder and then I install the PA 1.1 patch.

The PA1.1 GlitchFix pack does not have any installation instructions and neither does the Slide Menu patch/mod.
So what is the correct way to install these two mods??

The Career option is never offered, the option for a campaign creation is offered however it does not work................ I removed all the files and ran a clean install of Silent Hunter II and then started the game, it does not offer the carreer option either, in fact it offers the same options as Pacific aces after everything is installed...................

Try this:

Install SH2.

Run SH2 to make sure that it works. Run one of the trainning missions or something. Make sure that your scope, ect works.

Install the Ofiical 1.1 patch

Run SH2 again to make sure everything works.

Install the PA 1.0 RC4.

Run the now modded SH2 installation. Check to make sure everything works.

Add the PA 1.1 patch.

I have installed SHII and run a mission to see what works and the periscope does not work at all in SHII or in PA. I checked the depth of the boat and it was listed at 15m for both SHII and PA. I have tried a number of things to get the game to work, last night I installed SHII then the official patch 1.1 and ran one of the missions, the periscope did not work in the base SHII or the SHII with the official patch. The I installed PA RC4 and checked things out and then the PA 1.1 Patch and checked things out again and the carreer option is not offered in any version of the game, I also noticed that somethings are backwards, if I select play a saved mission in PA the next window does not have any saved missions and if I select start a new mission the next screen has a list of missions for me to select from. It looks like the game is being installed completely wrong/backwards .

Does the PA patch change things from metric to standard?
Do I need to do something to get the periscope to work?
I have selected the periscope icon and also used the F2 key and the periscope does not work, I have to make all of my attacks on the surface and with that there goes the purpose of a sub, no surprise attack.

Is there a way to control the depth of the sub?

I use to play Silent Service a lot and I was able to control the subs depth by adjusting the dive planes.

I have tried to install this game without the SH official patch and the PA 1.1 patch and nothing helps....

Periscope problem: I hit pgup scope will raise and the only thing that happens is the lense gets a clear spot and I have a good view of the Control room and Periscope. Can not seem to get close enough to the periscope lense to look through it????????????????

Hello All,

I followed these steps to install SH plus patches.

Install SH2
Install Official SH Patch 1.1
Install UBoat Mod 21
Install UBoat Mod 22
Install 1.03 Projekt Messer
Install Vics Fireball
Install Vics Oil Slick
Rename SH to PA
Install PA RC4 skip Kollmorgan Scope
Install PA 1.1 Patch
Install PA Sound 1.1

The above worked ok running single missions and until I install PA RC4 I was able to make new missions and run Campaigns.

After installing PA RC 4 I could play missions stored under create new missions, no campaigns.

Then I installed PA Glitch Fix and the computer screen froze and gave me this error message:

It sounds to me like you have a bad install of SH2. I assume this is a legal copy? You say the Periscope don't work in the unmodded version? Then it is not the Mod, it's your install of SH2. You are doing a complete install, right?

You really have me stumped. I think it's something wrong with the SH2 install, not the mod.

My CD is a legal copy and the periscope does work in the unmoded version. I am able to run campaigns,create new campaigns,create new missions and play stored missions. However after I install the PA RC4 and the PA patch 1.1 the only thing that I can play is the missions installed by the PA mods. I read in one of the postings some where about having the career option and this is not offered any where at anytime................ Not to mention that my US sub has 4 bow tubes instead of six and two stern tubes instead of four and on the surface the sub runs max 17knots instead of 20 knots, submerged the sub runs a max of 8 knots instead of 10 knots. After my setup of PA I have to select create a new mission to play the saved missions.
Sounds a bit backwards doesn't it???

Any suggestions?
To get my periscope to work in the PA mod I did not install the scope mod option in PA RC4. Is there something else that I should not install to get this to work properly?
