Adding Classes "type" ?
Just wondering if anyone knows if the sim will permit adding classes.
Example, if added the Types in bold below. Type100=Replenishment Type101=Tanker Type102=Cargo Type103=Troop Transport Type104=Coastal Vessel Type105=Life Raft Type106=Survivor Type107=Rare tanker Type108=Rare Cargo ship Type109=Rare Troop Transport Type110=Environmental Type111=Coastal Tanker Type112=Coastal Merchant Does this work or cause issues in your experience? Through cloning I've added a lot of vessels to the roster in upcoming TMO Update. The small tankers and merchants on roster for most part should not appear in the random ocean going convoys, so want to make them a different type, but not a coastal vessel as that spawns fishing boats, etc. |
I would assume so, but not sure.
When I did the USN Hull Clasification update I made everything correspond to "UnitType=0" since it was the smallest "vessel" that could be placed into a "country" instead of into the "merchant" category. I would think you would only have to make sure you are matching the type across all the files that would be calling it up (Names, Sea, Roster, etc.) so there may be few files to edit. Dusting off a lot of cobwebs from a few years ago when I messed with those! Conversely, you could probably use the "photo target" option (Type=109) as with the hospital ships and then just create a separate folder for the ships in question so it's along the lines of the Red Cross listing? You would then have to create a "country" in the "DefSide.cfg" file with the Axis code to corespond to the folder you would make for the new ships, say "Japanese Coastal Transports" or something along those lines. I can't remember if the photo target thing is something default from the game or added later. If it's default, then the only thing you would need to check is to make sure it's not "locked" to being neutral so it can be used for Japanese shipping. ElCid97 EDIT: In my TMO-BH V2 setup, I have the Type=109 as a "Photo Target" and not like "Rare Troop Transport" as you do above. It may have to do with the FotRSU "port-over" so, in short, yes, you may actually be able to do what you have done since I don't have any CTD's or issues yet. Then again, I've been mostly testing out things and not really conducting missions yet. |
