I do not tolerate flamers and psychopaths targeting me on forums, so when that happened here, I tapped out. It's been a good run until now.

What happend exactly? :hmmm:

Got all pissy about an easter egg he found in GWX and removed it.
Got told nobody cares.
Had a "look at me" overreaction and left.

It was just my comment about not being amused that provoked the real overreactions and the foul, abusive expressions and the disturbing images that followed. This is what prompted such a "drastic" response from me. I guess "Captain Drastic" really was a good username after all. I wasn't the first to get "all pissy" in that thread, either. I can't believe such a hail of negativity was the result of all this. This is no fun, and all the more reason to not expose myself to it anymore. @Drastic, Every action has a reaction while you're right that flamming and insults its not nice and not wanted on Subsim in general, When it does occasionally happen - it usually doesnt just fall out the sky, while it can be unwarrented and unfair. it also serves as a response or rejection to someones attitude and conduct. In this case, your post was a touch mean spirited towards someone elses work. If you dont like a a goofy obscure easter egg in a mod, thats fine, then dont look at it, remove it, whatever. But if you publicly have to trash it to make a point, thats not very cool and dont be surpised if the mods creator turns up and tells you where to go. If you are not being very respectful, why should others be respectful to you in return? respect is earned.

So as well being understandably angry at your detractors, I would advise on taking some accountibility also, reflect on what you posted and maybe consider how it came accross? There is no shame in doing so.
No one is perfect, we all need to self correct sometimes. Because if we dont, and just 100% blame everyone else, (the easiest option) we continue to have the same problems again in future.

I take the game very seriously but I also REALLY appreciate the modders who not only saved it but made it great so we should cut them some slack, glad to see they apparently have a sense of humour.

Now I really want to go see the Easter Egg and although an old and grumpy old hand I still like a laugh.

Thanks for a more balanced approach.
It was the "Flying F" and "little feelings" statements that set me off. I would never use or expect that kind of personal attack here in Subsim. Even if I was wrong to criticize some stuff people love, it was nothing against the people here.
However, since nothing will change even after all these words, it's "Hasta la vista bby" indeed.
