Soviet Waterways Torpedoes
Hello there can anyone help?
The Torpedoes in this mod go in a straight line when fired and don't turn I don't know why they do this. Thank you Kongo :Kaleun_Salute: |
It's historically accurate, Soviet torpedoes didn't have gyros.
The mod includes an extensive set of tables as part of the in-game TDC equivalent giving Range/Angle/Speed settings, but it's all in Cyrillic. Basically you have to "Lead the Target" and aim ahead of what your firing at in order to have a chance of hitting it. Mike.:) |

Nae probs!:salute:
The Russians do seem to like their mods hard-core in terms of accuracy. I found the same thing when I used to do flightsims, no such thing as press the quick start button and fly for any Russian origin aircraft mod. Nope, you had to go through the real pre-flight checklist in in order to get the engines and avionics going, and only then could you get your Tupolev or Illyushin off the virtual runway! Mike.:o |

Not Russian, but I prefer that as well. Difference between a proper sim and a arcade game pretending to a sim. |
You can also "cheat" a little and turn off manual fire control, from there, in the periscope view, you have to wait until the gyro angle indicator reads as close to zero as it possibly can, then launch. If you want to launch a spread of 3 torpedoes at an angle of 2 degrees, you fire one at 358, one at 000, and the last at 002 :D
To me, the challenge is still there in getting the setup and approach dead accurate, not so much deciphering the logistics of using the manual aiming system yet. I'll get there but for now, I'll take this simplified version until I'm more up to speed |
