Found the ghost ship ?????

9 Attachment(s)
Ran across the ghost ship for a second time since playing TMOwTW.
Found it SSW of convoy college. Very Very fast sailing ship! 25 knots, I nailed it with torp 1.

Slowed it down to about 7 knots, nailed it with torp 2
Slowed it down to about 1 knot, hit it with torp 3
Got real close and nailed it with Torp 4.
Not sinking. What am I supposed to do with it? Anyone know?

well, if you are intent upon sinking the old girl, be prepared to invest a lot of torpedoes because her damage profile is that of a battleship.

Good Luck, Herr Kaleun.

It is The Flying Dutchman...

Only order to your radioman to play in the gramophone Der Fliegende Holländer by Richard Wagner and pray...

Regards.

and...be advised....she WILL sink you, if given the opportunity.

I put 6 or 7 into her, they explode nothing happening. What's the deal?

The Flying Dutchman's behavior depends upon the mod used. Sometimes it is an enemy to your side, sometimes it is friendly. Sometimes it has cannons, sometimes not. In some mods, it is heavily armored, others it is not. In the stock game, it has an armor level of 90, and 600 hit points, with one tiny little box in the middle of the hull, but no collision spheres, making it next to impossible to sink. It carries armor piercing cannon rounds, as well as AA to shoot at its enemy, which in the Stock game, it is Dutch, and will therefore shoot at the Japanese and Germans... One must be careful however, speaking of The Flying Dutchman, as it sails about the world, never able to find its home port to dock... According to some, the Dutchman does not exist, but woe is he that ignores the evidence... :arrgh!:

the deal is....she has a very small damage profile. you have to hit her in just the right spot or she is a torpedo sponge.

and be careful as she will fire on you and sink you.

not very fair, eh?

my advice...when you meet her...sail in the other direction.

The lies continue! More people claiming to see something that just does not exist in this game.
