I cant play the soviet waterways mod

I have two problems.
1. When I play in the black sea, I keep getting tasks to photograph the port of Libava which is in the baltic. Eventually, I get thrown out of the navy...
2. How to use torpedoes? As far as I know, you do have to use them manually, but no matter what I press or spin on the computing thing, they will still go directly to the front.
Can anyone help?

It has been a while since I played this excellent mod.

There were some quirks with the Black Sea and Arctic campaign. I remember being assigned the same mission to photograph a port in the Baltic, even though I was assigned to Poltarnyy. Long sail from there! I have not looked for updates to this mod, but there may have been a fix made for this issue

As far as the torpedoes, you will find that you can't adjust the torpedo bering, they fly straight as an arrow out of the tube, so you to fire a spread, you will need to adjust your sub's course during firing. From what I understand about Soviet submarine technology from WWII (which is not much), that is how they had to fire, as Soviet torpedoes were far less advanced than those of other, more modern navies.

All that being said, it is truly a great mod, I had a lot of fun with it and even improved my Cyrillic a little.

That is also my understanding, Russian torpedo's didn't have a gyro angle capabillity, they were straight shooters. British I believe also weren't like US or Japanese, they had about a 10 degree deflection.
