Does anyone have a link to the mod that removes the 'Jawohl Kaluen' speech?
Would be much appreciated :Kaleun_Salute:

Thanks Fubar, it doesn't cause delay to the command does it? in fact it should make command action quicker would it not, since you dont have to wait for him to finish saying 'Jawohl Kaleun'?

FUBAR295 10-14-24 10:11 AM

There is a short silent pause before the command is spoken and or acted on.

Nice, also do you have a mod that removes the 'DING DING' from main speed dial changes, surface vessels had that, I dont recall uboats having them?

You can try this Hsie mod, think this what you are looking for ...

Not sure if he ever made a final on this. Also includes the "No Ja wohl" mod.

There is a short silent pause before the command is spoken and or acted on. - Is this the same case with this version of Jawohl mod? I dont care for the other sounds in that pack to be honest.

:hmmm: I only pulled off the "No ja wolh" part of this mod to use with my set ups. I use Scirč-Tikigod- repeated order as I don't mind the ring up when speed change is needed. :D

One last question, can I install your no Jawohl Kaleun version through jsgme mid patrol or does it have to be after a patrol?

It should be JSGME ready. :yep:

Regarding the dinging of the telegraph, correct, that’s total fiction. The telegraph transmitters had buzzers instead. When a new speed was ordered, the buzzers at the transmitter units sounded until the engine room matched the pointers on its telegraphs and the circuit for the buzzer was opened. This buzzer sound could be bypassed by a switch for silent running situations

Stereotypical behaviour

The bit I really like is when I order silent running:

"Schleichfahrt"

"JAWOHL HERR KALEUN!!!"

Makes me think of Corporal Jones from "Dad's Army".

...:hmmm: so am I to understand, after all this time, that the the telegraph transmitter actually goes buzz-buzz instead of ding-ding?!!:k_confused:

Yes indeed. A continuous buzz until the engine room matched the order on their telegraphs. Ubisoft here too just made assumptions based on lack of information.
