Not the first time this happened to a submarine, remember India also done this with one of their boats.

the we have K431 which sank not once but twice at her moorings.

not to start an argument....but isn't K-431 the Kilo II which had a reactor incident while she was being refueled? that was like 40 years ago, no?

i suspect that the reactor explosion sank her the first time but i am not sure when she got credit for the second sinking.

knowing the Soviets, they probably left her where she was, with an excellent possibility that she is still right there, after 40 years.

K431 (Echo class) had the explosion during refueling I should have said K429 a charlie class submarine which sank twice.

Both boats were raised and later scrapped.
