I'm getting a bit fed up with convoys

So I get told the location, course and speed of a convoy over 800 nautical miles away. I plot my intercept (Thanks XLJedi :Kaleun_Salute:) and get to within a few miles away.

I'm using the no spoilers mod so effectively map contacts are off. I close to visual range and start plotting out their tracks, trying to spot where the escorts are and the juciest targets. I shadow them for 2 hours waiting for night where I will enact my meticulously hatched plan.

Checking back I notice a course change. Ok it happens, might be actually helpful.

Chaos ensues. To highlight this I changed the datasheet of the no spoilers mod to re-enable map contacts.

This isnt the first time either. Most commonly it happens when a convoy is following a coastline, this is the first time ive seen it happen mid ocean.

Any of you experiancing this?

A few times yes, especially with formations hugging the coast (as you noted). Had one tanker turn to port and run himself right up on to land, so close it was to the shore line.

But it's rare, and by the time I've left the North Sea I no longer encounter any of this, and anyway, I'm hunting far from the coast at that point. No doubt there are pathfinding or logic issues with the formations, but probably down to location. In the open ocean it seems to work much better, and I've not seen anything like your image in the open sea. Yet.

Hopefully its a one off, I submitted a bug report.

I hope they can improve the convoys pathfinding. As soon as I see a convoy near the coast I know I'm going to have to wait for them as they run around like headless chickens every time they make a course change. Especially difficult to follow with map contacts off.

There is still fine tuning required, and I'm sure these things will be ironed out over time. Either the devs will do it, or mods will fix it. Or that's what I expect anyway.

Maybe you just put the fear of God in to them with your devastating assault :)
