Must be why seurity has been so heightened at the Yucca Lake Facility just northwest of Vegas for the past year or so.

Not only is there a restricted area there - R4808N - which encompasses the groom lake facility known as area 51 and restricts flight at all altitudes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year... but they've seen fit to publish a 20 mile wide Temporary Flight Restriction - inside the already restricted area - centered on 36°53'52.63"N 116° 2'42.69"W

who wants to guess what they do there?

first time i've seen that facility's airspace "hot" in 25 years of flying

Its south of Yucca Flats near what's labeled as "Device Assembly Area".

It doesn't sound very threatening to me. :haha:

A nice place to visit where all sorts of things go rumble rumble and " BUMP " in the night. :D

I'm sure Russia will make a note of that area!! :doh:

that is the facility where they assemble, disassembe, modify, stage, transport, maintain, repair, retrofit, and test nuclear devices
