hello to SH3 and Subsim

Hello to all on SH3 and Subsim! I am new to Silent Hunter 3, and I came to it by way of discovering Silent Hunter 4 about 2 months ago and joining Subsim at that time. After learning experiences with SH4 - and sinking several times, I wanted to try the u-boat experience with SH3.
It is amazing that there is still an active community for the sim after all this time. I will be asking a question in a second post to all the experienced captains here.

Thanks for the welcomes. For the primary mod I went with the Onealex with GWX combination, and followed the directions in the Youtube for this. I got something wrong the first time but cleaned it out and went back to extract and install clean again. This time it is working and looking very good. Now trying to learn the tricks for commanding a u-boat. Part of which is unlearning how it got done on a US fleet boat.

Oh and surprised to see that they dive deeper than the US boats.
