Richard Moll

rip Richard Moll, a character actor who found lasting fame as an eccentric but gentle giant bailiff on the original “Night Court” sitcom, has died. He was 80. always like him in night court

Very sad. good actor. I remember wathcing night court from my hospital stay few years ago and watching the show in the morning.

That is sad to hear; I modelled myself after his character to no small degree when assigned to bailiffing the four courtrooms and six Administative judges for the San Francisco Court of Appeals for Social Security for five years straight-without backup. Interfacing with the public incl. a fair number of nut-cases, psycho appellants, lawyers, expert witnesses, and one Justice in the preliminary stages of dementia, suspect parcel deliveries(bombs??!), along with 90 occasionally troubled staff/personnel rounded out my duties.

He was good in the movie ‘House’ as Big Ben. Hell, the whole movie was good, funny and scary, he made it better.

I enjoyed " Bull Shannon " Richard Moll on Night Court. Night Court was one of those shows with great actors all around. Their collective talent and chemistry made the show larger than the sum of it's parts.

Markie Post as Christine Sullivan was awesome. :yep: Sadly, Richard Moll joins Markie Post, Harry Anderson as Judge Stone, Charles Robinson and bailiffs, Selma Diamond and Florence Hallop as no longer being with us. A re-boot of night court with original cast member John Larroquette was tried. In my opinion, it never worked as it never had the chemistry of the original.

Rest in peace Richard and thanks for the many laughs and stopping by.

I loved "Night Court". This thread caught my eye because I vividly remember watching the credits for each episode. Mostly because I liked the theme song. Rest in peace, Mr. Moll.
