The Doctors has given my Mom 2 more years at most.

Had a phone discussion with my elder sister some days ago and she told me that our Mom is suffering from severe cardiac failure. Something with the right part of her heart is 3 times bigger than the left side and the blood vene who goes between her lungs and to the right side of the heart is very big.

Doctors have made mistakes before-I say my Mom will live more than these 2 years which the doctors has given her.

I am sorry to hear this.
whatever, get a second opinion/examination. I do not know how old she is and I do not want to make up false hope, but there are a lot of things modern medicine can do.

Thank you Catfish
She's 82 years old and she is, due to her age, not a candidate to get a new heart and lungs.

If she had been 30-40 years younger she would have been on the waiting list for a new heart and lungs.

She have said if there's some pills who would extend these 2 years with more years then she would take these pills.

Maybe I'm one of the rare type of Person that Death does not bother.
I was glad my Mother died but She suffered from dementia for years.
That bothered me more then her passing.

We are not getting out of Life alive! Not to our understanding anyway.
At 82 with maybe 2 more years? Not a bad run.
My Dad is 86 and I'd be surprise if he makes it to 88.

No one here can tell you how to handle this information. That's all on you and you alone!
Say prayers if that's your belief. But spend the time with your Mother if you can.
My Mother did not know who I was for years!

If you walk into the room, and your Mothers knows Who you are?
You are more blessed then I was. Treasure that my Friend!

Thank you for your kind words.

My Mom is still somewhat clear in her head despite her age.

It does happen she forget things.

That hits hard, and even if we think we can prepare ourselves for when the day comes our parents go, we are never really, aren't we. That must have been a shock for you, Markus. My parents are mid and end 70, and I think of these things a lot. Always feels terrible. Sad to hear you now must face these sort of thoughts. I wish you strength. Confidence. Calm. Myself, when caught in such sad windmills of the mind, I find guidance in stoicism. What must happen, one day will happen. However, we must not be ahead of the event in our mind. Enjoy the time there is left until then, grab it, embrace it, dont let go. And whatever there may be left to say between you two, speak it out now. If you miss the last chance to do so, you will regret it for the entire rest of your life. Thats unneeded.

I'm very sorry to hear about your mom, Markus. Cherish the time you do have. Catfish is right about getting a second opinion. Medical Science can do a lot, then God takes it from there.

We will be keeping you, your mom and family in our thoughts and prayers.

All the best, Markus.

Thank you for your carrying words.

I had a talk with my Mom over the phone some hours ago and she got an appointment next Monday 9th Oct.

Here she shall meet doctors specialist on lungs. She hope they will give her a more positive feedback or if they can provide her with pill(s)

She was very clear in her head when I talked with her-No sign of Dementia here.

One thing is clear-Her death will come as a lightning from a blue sky-She wouldn't feel anything...faint and then dead.

Which makes us(her Children) happy.

We knew that one day our Mom would not be here anymore. And the fact her death will be painless, is a good ting in this sad news.
