Jesus H Christ some of the ways our government proposed to gain support for a war in Cuba is outright terrifying and wrong. Include killing your own people and blame it on the other guy.

My Team Sergeant, at the time a young private, was standing in the door waiting for the green light to jump into Cuba during Bay of Pigs when Kennedy aborted the mission. At the last second they pulled him back and shut the doors saving him from death or a commie prison.

I'd say he had one helluva lucky escape.

I am glad the president nixed that plan.


there was a period of insanity where pretty much anything was considered acceptable if it could be linked to being anti communist.


There was even a plan that if the Mercury spacecraft carrying John Glenn crashed to blame it on Cuba and the communist.



No need to let a dead American go to waste. :o


But then, false flag operations sometimes work. You just have to convince a gullible public about what "happened" and you are good.
