SH3 Steam/Ubisoft GWX users
 

Hello,


is it recommended to purchase Silent Hunter III on the Steam store instead of Ubisoft's store?



Recently I installed SH3 through the Ubisoft Connect launcher and modded GWX 3.0 on it, but just today when I went to run it apparently the Ubisoft Connect launcher had completely uninstalled the game. I read somewhere that this can happen if the launcher needs to update itself or something, and now I have to reinstall and remod the whole thing again -.-



Are there any other users who bought the game through Ubisoft that know how to prevent the launcher from uninstalling games without user consent ?
I don't want to have to go through the entire process of reinstalling and modding the game each time Ubisoft decides it 'needs' to delete my game installation.


Should I just cut my losses and purchase the game on Steam, or does the game also randomly uninstall there too ?
