Red Flashing Dots on Map?

Hi Guys

I Just got back into Cold Water (after watching Red October yet again:))

Still relearning stuff

Any idea what the red flashing circle of dots on the map means just slightly NNW of me?

It looks like a noisemaker icon but I wasn't near any enemy ships when it appeared (and a Bear dropped a torp on me but that's anoither matter!)

Is it maybe an air dropped sensor buoy?
