Need for Speed: Autobahn Frenzy
Speed limits in Germany? Pah...!
----------------------- In the end, a police helicopter had to end the chase: A sports car driver fought a duel with dozens of police cars near Stuttgart on Saturday night. The unknown man drove away from the officers at 300 kilometers per hour. There is still no trace of the driver. At adventurous speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour, a wrong-way driver near Stuttgart managed to outrun dozens of patrol cars and escape - albeit on foot in the end. According to police, the man had turned his Mercedes AMG GT 63 S sports car around at the end of a traffic jam for reasons not yet known and sped back to Stuttgart in the wrong direction. Near Stuttgart: Speeding police car at a speed of 300 km/h Alarmed by emergency calls, police took up pursuit on Saturday night, but repeatedly lost sight of the speeder. A police helicopter finally followed the car. The driver left the highway, parked his car and fled on foot. The car was impounded. Investigators are now trying to find out who was driving. In addition to the helicopter, a total of 41 patrol cars from 6 police headquarters were involved in the nighttime chase. Focus ----------------------- Thats attempted manslaughter to me. Prison, several years. |
I highly doubt that a speed limit would stop idiots like this one. Unless, of course, it's enforced with rigid controls and fines/punishments that actually hurt. Existing speed limits aren't controlled anywhere near enough, and the fines/punishments are ridiculously low, so what's the point of talking about a general speed limit?

Ostfriese, you tpook too literla what did noit deserve to be takne that literal. ;) I was just writing a laconic line.
I am against speed limits. And I don't even own a car! ;) I am against it because I am pissed off by the natural attitude with which more and more bans are being imposed in Germany, to enforce political correctness, to enforce collectivism and compliance with ideology, and to demonstrate that the subject is the property of the state and the state can push it as it pleases. |
I see more and more people being unable or unwilling (or both) to take the responsibilities that come with liberties (Rechte und Pflichten, if you don't get it from the English words).

Top speed is listed with 315 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 2.9 sec., 0-200 in less than 10 sec. The torque values are insane. The electric version, or more precise: hybride version, is rated even higher in all technical performance specs, 849 instead of "only" 639 PS for example. This model is exclusively available as hybride only these days. Formula one dressed in Gran Turismo clothes. |

Here in Denmark you are not only getting a fine for over speeding more than 100 %
Your driving licence is taken from you Most important they confiscate your car. There are companies here like AVIS who got some of their car confiscated and they can't get them back. Markus |
