Exclusive look at Sea Power + some interesting updates
|
Thanks for the interview and video boss. Looking forward to this one.

Nice preview, thanks. Another title I am really waiting for.
Microprose has several extremely promising titles in the fire. Second Front being one of them. I tried a few of those navy games that came out in the past couple of years, but must admit that none of them really caught me for a longer time or convinced me in full, thats why I remained silent about them. Sea Power and Modern Naval Warfare are two I hope to break that curse. Task Force Admiral and Destroyer: The U Boat Hunter also are present blips on my radar screen. |
Excellent video Neal. Thanks.

Dev-Update
Dear readers! Another small update about what was going on the last two weeks. We had a visit from Frazer (MicroProse) and came together with Nils and me (Martin) in Munich to show our game to Fritz and Alex from GameStar https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/...2748b7cde3.jpg https://steamcommunity.com/games/128...67401821142521 |

The lack of real time updates is truly bothersome, IMO. One update a year, on average just seems non-productive and starts the rumors of "vaporware"
I regularly play Dotmod on Cold Waters and love what that team has produced and though it's a different title, it's the former development teams love child being supported by a great modders. The details all seem very similar and yet, here we are, what, almost 5 years since the announcement? There seems to be a cloak of silence on Steam by the developers (understandably) and I question whether this is still worth keeping my my Steam wishlist or even following, since the developers seem to keep their distance. Now that they are sponsored by Microprose, I used to get excited seeing that name, but their library is expanding regularly on ideas that seem to take years to get real time updates. So, why not truly consider releasing in early access, much like many of the Microprose titles out now? This would give fantastic feedback, and yes, some negative feedback. However, if the games UI and unit interaction are reminiscent of Cold Waters, many really enjoy it and understand how to use it. Anyway, not ranting, just making a casual observation that I feel confident others share. |
Check out the devs Discord page rather than Steam for the latest update info
The game’s Ui is not really similar to Cold Waters it’s more similar to Fleet Command this time check out Neal’s interview video to learn more… The game is now in closed beta so hopefully not too far away now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30dfLKVnWn8 |

I really hope it's this year though. I know they want it to be great but what game these days does not have some bugs associated with any release? I did join their Discord as well. Thanks for the advice. |

If you're playing as NATO then their active sonars aren't the greatest out there, you should mostly rely on towed arrays and helicopters dropping sonobuoys. Keep in mind that to receive information from sonobuoys you'll need to keep at least one unit within 15nm of them. |
