Killed on deck while submerged?

How the heck do you get killed and wounded on deck while submerged and under fire? Is there anyway besides remembering to put them in crew quarters which of course I won't remember?

in a word, no.

you must move the deck-side crew (watch and guns) to a station below deck to afford them a bit more protection from injury and death.

if you want a quick-and-dirty fix, save the file. exit SH4. restart and reload the game. the dead crew will be resurrected.

Old bug with the sim that never got resolved.

As stated, the only way around it is to manually move the watch and any gun crews below decks.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the replies.

Before you start a patrol, empty the crews quarters and you can put them there. I think putting them in the damage control slots will work also, but I'm not positive.

moving crew to DC would provide the same effect as moving them to crew berthing. for quite a while i have been expanding the size of the DC to accommodate the entire Deck Watch when submerged such that they perform DC while the battle rages. when we surface, i have to jockey-around human resources because the surface-sailing requires a watch crew. but it can be done.
