Target Motion Analysis
1 Attachment(s)
It's been more than 10 years since I played Sub Command or Dangerous Waters. At that time I developed a program using Mathcad (version 4.0) to help with Target Motion Analysis. This picture shows how that program demonstrates the relationship between own-ship and the target. The position of the speed vectors (on opposite sides of the line-of-sight, or not) and the values for cross-vector speed, determine whether the pursuit is Lead, Lag or Overlead.
During gameplay, Mathcad is open on a second monitor. This makes it really easy to update the relationship between own-ship and target. I don't have newer versions of Mathcad, so I don't know if the program will work with them. If you're interested in obtaining a copy of this program, send me a private message. |
