My U-96 conning tower scratch build
 

Here's my U-96 1/30 scale conning tower scratch build - all brass
I built this a few years ago based on drawings from a book I have. It's about 10 inches long and entirely scratch built from brass, aluminum, and wood. I soldered the whole thing together and hand painted the markings. One of these days I'll build the rest of the sub to the same scale from scratch... it'll be nearly 8 feet long. Yep, I'm officially a crazy woman...

Brass? wood? but how??
 

That is absolutely incredible :o I can't believe you were able to create
such a beautiful thing from scraps and such haha This is not really kit or model building, this is a beautiful sculpture. Very impressive indeed.
