There is an undocumented procedure to follow. While in port, the first step is to do a "clean" Save with the current set-up - but use a unique name. Do not overwrite old Saves. Then be sure no crew members are at the gun positions. Change your gun, but look at the crew page before you leave the office. If the positions did not come with the new gun, back it off. Look at the crew page again. Did they come back? If not, Exit the game. Re-start the game and load your Save. Try again, or how ever many times until you lose your patience. If you do get crew positions, you are OK to depart, but it can be hit or miss, and you might have to leave it the way it was and try again after the next patrol. If you do get crew positions, depart the home port, and once you are roughly 50nm away from the port, Save the game again (another unique name) and Exit. Re-start the game and load the new Save. Now you can crew the gun and the crew should show at their new stations. If you do not Save and Exit, then restart after moving the gun, the crew won't show at the stations, even if the positions are there. Refer to Fix for deck gun crew slots disappearing for the current situation you have, if you feel qualified to edit the Save folder files. Be sure and back up the data first!!! The 2nd post there by aanker used to have links on the bolded text, but not anymore... If you have the FotRSU mod, we have a pdf in the Support / HowTo folder "NewColetrainsAndOthersDGfix.pdf", which has all of the known methods. Good luck! Slightly irritating aspect of the game, eh? :salute:
