It appears a woodland creature has invaded my pool.

That's one strange submarine :D

AVGWarhawk 06-09-22 03:42 PM

Very stealthy.

Looks like your turtle trap worked really well. Is that a snapping turtle?

Platapus 06-09-22 05:04 PM

They make little net ramps to allow these types of visitors to climb out

That doesn't make any sense. Why would he install an escape ramp if he went to all that trouble to build such an elaborate and stylish looking turtle trap like that?. sheesh :D

At least your pool is usable. I can get zero upstate NY companies to answer their phones...One at least said they were booked.

The old turtle got itself out of the pool. Many battle scars. Messed up some of my stacked stone wall. Appeared very tired as I carried him off to the stream in front of my home.

I think the turtle was undercover, Chris. I think the turtle was and is tired of walking and was scoping out you car collection. I'm sure he wants your green Buick to cruise in style. :yep: I see you put him by the stream and didn't negotiate with him. :D

The old turtle just wanted out. Once he hit the stream he became very lively. Started moving upstream. Our pool is salt chlorinated. Although these buggers are ok in brackish water I think the pool water with 3500 ppm salt to water was wearing on him. The fresh water stream was probably a relief for the cheeky bugger.

What is wrong with your pool?

He floods it and uses it for skating rink in the winter!:O: That looks to be an Eastern Snapping Turtle, currently overhunted as a meaty delicacy. Nice rescue! :Kaleun_Salute:

Tough old turtle. Probably still tough after cooking!
