A giant piece in the world of soundtrack, one of the very greatest ever. For this alone the gods of music seat him in the Olymp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3fz6CC45ok Bon Voyage, Sir. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the many, many good times and intense emotions. |

Ah, Jon&Vangelis, before Vangelis started solo in film composing. I have several of those old albums. And I still listen to them, from time to time.
And why saiyng "I loved his music"? ;) Myself, I still do and always will! The man is gone. But what he created stays kindly with us. This is the piece by which I came into contact with his music for the first time, before Blade Runner that was. It always stayed special to me, for various biographic reasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCzwCdYn_hU |

I know those titles all, I have over a dozen albums by him. And listen to them all frequently. Not every day, but frequently - since 30 years. :)
You should search on Youtube, its a treasure chest. |
I first discovered his music from the original Cosmos series. They not only used one his pieces for the main theme (which is still one of my all time favorite pieces of music) but also had some of his other work as well in various episodes.

I had a chat with a Swedish woman who grew up with Vangelis and his music. Her father was a big fan of Vangelis, so she even heard music that wasn't known to the public.

R.I.P.
I first knew him by "Chariots of Fire", kinder-garden something, that had that music, but also, one of my favourites of my father. That k7 tape is still around. My favourite, Blade Runner end credits! |

Forgot to mention his real name Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou
Here is more about him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vangelis Markus |
