Turned off duds but still have them?
 

Is there some way to modify the files on the OM Darkwaters mod to stop duds? I turned them off in the gameplay settings after I started a campaign, but I still get duds. Found a fat juicy convoy, biggest I ever saw, gotta be 16 merchants and three escorts in the west approaches. Frustrated. Yeah I guess it's cheating but I want to sink some ships rather than have duds and prematures. ;)


Are the gameplay settings locked in once you start a campaign?

Until you return to port, you cannot change certain settings and have them take effect (unless you noodle in the Save folder and risk CTD). Just don't forget that the Main Menu's "Options" are different from the ones in the Captain's Office in the Career Mode, and that each career can have a different set of Options, and must be set each time you begin a new career. Use the wooden radio console to the left in the Captain's Office in port to change things in each of your careers.

Perfect! I didn't realize there was two separate options menu's. I ran back to port and changed the gameplay settings and that fixed it! Ran into another convoy and got three hits on a Rodney BBS. Trailing now. I never figured out in all my years, why do you not get any reknown for hits, but not sinking? Thanks a bunch as usual!
