Worth Picking up 3?
Hey all so I have recently been loving playing silent hunter 4, so much so that I ended up making a separate install to play the dark waters mod as well. Playing that got me thinking though, is it worth picking up silent hunter 3? Do you guys think it offers enough more then the modded uboat gameplay in 4 to justify picking it up? Also I have a fairly modern machine, 2k monitor windows 10 etc., how hard would it be to get it to run on my machine given how old it is?

use the SHIII download link i sent you just upack it with 7zip its already patched to 1.4 then make a Games Folder on drive C:/ but outside Programe Files x86 so the windows protection does'nt mess things up then mod SH3 as you like https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...37&postcount=2 you can also use the single GWX install file https://www.mediafire.com/file/a0w34..._Full.exe/file screenie of OneAlexGWX MOD https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pic...ictureid=12228 https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pic...ictureid=12242 Screenie LSH2020 https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pic...ictureid=11673 |

Graphics upgrades are just impressive as well. Far as getting it to run on windows 10, sure its doable, but not sure about SH 3. |
While the SH4 u-boat mods are nice work, modded SH3 does a better job covering the topic.
I.e., the SH4 mods don't have wolfpacks, a key item. While there is room for improvement with it in SH3, modded SH3 at least does have them occasionally. |
yes, you can get SH3 running on a new machine and with mods, it will look halfway decent.
but personally, if you are getting into a new subsim, I would check out "Wolfpack" which is now my fav subsim. |
