Sim froze at worst time
 

5th patrol USS Balao
Patrolling off Honshu
Late 1943

After sinking a destroyer and freighter, found a3 ship convoy of unescorted troop carriers.

Sank front one. Damaged the second to a stop. Lined up the 3rd at 1000 yds. Ready to hit fire...freeze!

Of course, I hadn't stopped to save. Restarted from last save. Could not get close to freighter, and no troop carriers.

Lol yes, it happens, even on most stable set ups etc. Just part of SH 4.

I save about once per day (in the sim), rarely get CTD but does happen. Current patrol it happened for unknown reason when under depth charge. Took damage, could be the new damage model I am testing. I reloaded but lost two days of patrol time had completed lol as got busy and forgot to save one day. Important to remember to always make sure no contacts are around when save, includes distant contacts can hear on sonar, make sure the green light does not actuate when on any bearing. Make sure minimum of 50 NM away from location of sunken vessels, ports etc or risk CTD and other issues when reload.
