There is the PT boat, which could be elongated, though that'd be a bit of a "stretch" (sorry, really bad pun):

and there is also a PC 451 Class sub chaser from the AOTD_MadMax shipyard in SH4 (FotRSU) that could be brought in and / or edited for the 497 class...

... or add nodes and controls to the sketchfab model Anvar1061 linked to, and edit the bridge, mast & weapons parts for early, mid and late war versions.

It looks like the War Thunder model. Very nice, but far too complexe ! :o

I think it's necessary to create a model from scratch.

It is even more difficult to distribute them among the operating countries.

I planned to port this one to SH5 but couldn't get in touch with the_frog for permission. Would still love to, one day...

As for SC497, model Anvar1061 linked seems to be best choice, although its polycount should probably be really decimated for SH3.

It was originally the_frog's model, but AOTD_MadMax had it at the time and finished converting it to SH4 for FotRSU... I just looked, and we do not have a ReadMe file for the ship... :hmmm: - but I did find this in the FotRSU ReadMe:

* NPC_461– Original built by the_Frog, and converted to SH4 by AOTD_MadMax

SH3 can handle this, but with all other units, polycount is indeed too much !

Yes, it's nice, but it is a post-war version.

The model is also too complexe for such a small SH3 unit.

Also, it's not possible to have various skins.

Are you sure that this unit has never been created, and is not in any supermod's roster ???

Dont know if _this_ ship still exist anywhere, but WEM has an SC497 integrated. "War Elite Mod" by denis_469. And two more like this SCSubchaser and TypeSC.
