Deck Gun Crew

Ahoy Captains,

In the past, I have read posts about captain's Deck Gun Crew couldn't hit the side of a barn! Well, I have something that I would like to share with the community. I have decent luck at sinking targets with my deck gun. (I have a video, if I have done everything right in order for it to be seen.) My mod set is in my signature, no tinkering with the files because I would break something and have to delete everything to start over. First, I select my DG crew who have high skills in gunnery. I plot the target just like I was going to fire torpedoes at the target. Tube selection is were my DG is mounted, bow tubes for a bow mounted gun, aft tubes for an aft mounted DG. I do all my plotting submerged. And now the next thing is important, I select the 'Aim for waterline' button under the gun crew section. It is at the 00:17 time in the video. Selecting any of the others 'Aim for Hull' or Command Deck or Weapons, the DG crew can't hit anything. I go to the periscope to make my adjustments because the TBT (shortcut U) is obscured by the flash/smoke when the DG is.

Make corrections just like one would before shooting a 'fish' as the crew shoots at the target.

In the video, the crew fifteen hits and two misses at a range of two thousand plus yards. The state of the ocean makes a different also. Wind speed was around fifteen meters.

Hope this helps!
