How to make aircraft be spotted from further distance?

I want to make my crew detect aircraft from further away in order to give more time to dive because currently sometimes crew spots aircraft only when it starts to dive on us. Are their some sort of values to change so the visual detection would be only affected for aircraft?

I am not home at moment so don't have the files in front of me, but it is along the lines of opening the .sim with S3D...

Library/Subparts/Sensors.sim (naming could be a little off but its the correct path).

My guess, is the deck watches visual sensors max range are set surprisingly low like they were in TMO, which I have changed for new version. There are numerous factors involved , some of which cant be predicted for each aircraft contact such as fog, time of day, clouds, sea state, skill level of particular aircraft "crew", but increase in max range can get the results you desire in most cases.

When home I will look up exact instructions and send a link with the modified sensors as a example.

that technique will work.

an alternative is to modify the Visual or Radar parameters in the Sensors.Cfg file in \Data\Cfg folder.

The visual sensor on the observation periscope is responsible for visual detection of aircraft.

Визуальный сенсор на наблюдательном перископе отвечает за визуальное обнаружение самолетов.

I did some testing and I do not believe that Observation sensor values matter for spotting aircraft. when the sub is surfaced.
