Why to like (some) rats

However, on a sidenote, I do not like how enthusiastically man has enslaved animals to serve in the cruel midst of wars and battles, namely horses. I do not buy it anymore that their suffering, pain, fear and traumatization is lesser than that of humans.

But then one can argue that the whole concept of using animals for human profit, and farming, is a bit (or not just a bit) off.

When is a Rat not a Rat?
That one and many others are probably well kept and cared for.
I know people that kill them by the hundreds to protect chicken farms in many states!

It's a double edged sword.
You might recall Rats were blamed for the Black Plague just because Fleas carried it!
