Lengthiest Storm

Currentt game at Jan 16 - 24 '41 I'm sitting in the Western Approaches N/W of Ireland waiting for a convoy to bushwhack but the weather is appalling.

Storms previously have beem 1-3 days but this one is 8 days with no let upwhen I saved/exited.

Isn't this a bit much?

Well... Here's some fragments from Clay Blair's "Hitler's U-Boat War", in part where he describes patrols on North Atlantic in January 1941:

"All were handicapped by winter darkness and seemingly endless parade of brutal storms"

"Glancing attack by Hipper (...) and hideous weather had led the British to delay again the sailing of Halifax convoys"

"when Halifax 103 was ready to put to sea, the bad weather forced thirty-one ships to abort the voyage"

"the airmen found convoys on January 11,16 and 20, but owing to the unfavourable weather, the scarcity of U-Boats (...) Godt was not able to put a single boat in contact with any of the convoys".

So the conditions you've encountered seem pretty accurate, though I admit this must have been frustrating.

Last CCoM career, had 17 continuous days of storms; ie winds >= 12 m/s and much of the period included rain. Not unusual at all according to most first-person accounts of the Atlantic war, except much of the rain should probably have been snow.

So no, not a bit much at all. Particularly for those who demand "realism" from the program.

Yeah eventually moved out of the area and ran into an unescorted T3, T2, C3 and small merchant ending up on this patrol with close to 60 k GRT.

So I'm not in a position to complain too hard.
