TDW_GenericPatcher wrong sh5.exe
 

I thought I saw an answer here somewhere, but now I cannot find it.


Trying to install The Wolves of Steel 2.2_SH5 Expansion Pack_v2.2.24_Full.exe on fresh UBISOFT download SH5 ver 1.2.0. The game runs OK prior to modding.



I didn't select the option to convert Steam files during the install because this is not Steam. Now when the Generic Patcher runs, I get:


"D:/Games/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 5\sh5.exe is a different version than expected. Reason: Bytes read does not equal bytes expected by patch
Bytes read: 000000000000000000000000000000
Bytes expected: C3CCCCCCCCC3CCCCCCCCC3CCCCCCCC


Windows 10, of course. I had installed TWOS version 2.1.2 back in 2018 on a different computer and it installed perfectly. Now, after this install of TWOS, I cannot run the game afterwards. I get: "Game startup failed. Please check your UPlay installation".


One difference. With TWOS 2.1.2 there was a MODS folder created. Now there is a TWoS_Parts folder.

did you replace sh5 exe before installing TWoS

I ended up replacing it with the sh5.exe that worked fine with version 2.12 of the mod. I have dl'd the version you linked though in case I need it for the future.
