Discovering WW1 tunnel of death hidden in France for a century

Bit of a tricky one is this. Do you seal it off, erect a memorial and designate it as a war grave?, or do you unearth the last letters which were almost certainly written to the families, return the bodies and let them rest in peace?

Anything is better than leaving them to the looters surely.

It should be twofold. Those buried there should be identified and remains given to the family. As the site is worked a archaeological type study can be conducted.
