Typ XXI battery recharge
 

Does is normally take forever to recharge, and then not-quite get a full charge?

Now why did it log me in as "Fly" and not "Boot"?

Sounds about right. The Type XXI was under-powered and in addition to failing to reach design speeds surfaced and submerged, recharging batteries took a very long time. See Blair, Hitlers U-Boat War Vol-1.

There is a fix in 'maiks archives' don't remember the author name, research a bit 'xxi battery and flak fix' if you find the post of that mod take the author name and go to maik archives its there uploaded.

Ok, I was wondering if it was some bug, or running the Steam version. Should have saved the reknown and stuck with my trusty TypVII

Actun, I've been here for years, for some damn reason it wants to log me in as patfly, not patboot..

Still wondering about this xxi, though- 5 mins submerged takes 5 hours to recharge, and it never comes out of recharge mode. Also noted the bow planes aren't rigging out- the stb one comes out a hair. Unless I surface then submerge.

Note I'm running the steam game on a win7 rig- might that have something to do with it? I've about given up on steam in general- just a crap portal

I had the same problem; I actually first registered here in the late '90s but then had to re-register in 2002 because of it.

This thing is a pig. I should have stayed with the 7-c.

Sad to hear people having issues with the Type XXI. I'm having unbelievable success with it. Easily my favorite boat. I just need to learn how to fire torpedoes better, or else I would be much more successful.
