Skins ..interested
Hi to all;
First off i would like to make a mod if you can call it by skinning my own sub. I had some experience in 2D programs but now Im out of the way knowing the format as to how the skins would work and where to put them to make it work. So If someone can give me tips on this matter and maybe I can show a bit of my work for the interested party to check how it goes. I would be using stock game but not sure if it would work or do I need mod enabler .. to make it work.. My salute .. :Kaleun_Salute: and deep appreciation to an answer. |
Using this little program you can easily extract a .tga picture from a .dat https://www.mediafire.com/file/ly05z...tTexExtract.7z
Here's a set of tutorials https://www.mediafire.com/file/1dpxl...-Tutorials.rar There are others, but I didn't find them on www.subsim.com and I downloaded them for you. https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/ima...n_Salute-1.gif |

First a deep appreciation for the link im suppose to try and giving me the tips and idea for such skinning process. Maybe i will post my skin sample here after my quarantine coz right now im with a less powerful laptop..:arrgh!: then i will try using my own sub skin. Someone who has historical pics on subs that offers me a sample to work to im grateful in anyway much of help coz research is another thing im not familiar with sub archives .. The link are special maybe on museums but no idea what or where.. |
You don't need a powerful computer. Anything you are going to do is doable with minimum requirements. You don't even need S3Ditor. You will be able to draw skin in Paint and change it to .dat using DatTexExtract. Then check it out in a museum or in another way.
