Fixing the ARB WideGUI "salvo" switch?
I have asked several times at the ARB WideGUI thread with no real answer. The TDC "Single/Salvo" selector switch only shows tube numbers for each switch position in the ARB "Attack Map"...the switch positions are blank in all other screens. I followed all instructions to install the mod, and everything works, so far, except for this annoyance. After installing the mod I had an SH3Commander folder in my SH3 folder...even though I have yet to install Commander. This folder contains a folder for every type uboat with .TGA's that would appear to fix the issue...but no explanation on why they are in "SH3Commander" folder...or what to do with them.
Anybody figured out how to correct this switch's markings when using the ARB mod? |
Prowler,
Have you looked in the "menu_1024_768.ini" file for the Salvo? I know there are some files associated with the dials, are they in the correct parent / ID group? Good hunting, FUBAR295 |
Just got it figured out. The fixes are contained in "F:\SH3 Commander\U-boat" folder (that was not plainly stated). You must make sure SH3 Commander is installed before you install the ARB WideGUI upgrade.
I have no idea why this simple fix requires SH3 Commander...but I use it anyway so.....:salute: |

Never mind...the fixes are worse than not having tube numbers at all :hmmm: ! They are not correct for the type Uboat you are in and the amount of tubes it has. Sheesh!! I'm removing them. |
I am afraid you can't fix that. It is hard coded and it does not work outside of the attack map. What ARB does is install a different graphic for each submarine (using SH3Commander) which goes on top of the switch graphic but then the numbers are doubled in the attack map switch. That is why I used a small switch in DGUI, to make it less evident.

try with this ARB adaptation for wac5.2
https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...d.php?t=239167 It works : "-Salvo selector numbers visible at periscop view F3, at tdc view F6 and at uzo view." go in the mod there is TDC8.tga (in data\Menu\Gui\TDC) and go in menu_1024_768.ini, you will find it too. :-) |

Yep...the "doubled" numbers are also a problem, as well as incorrect tube numbers for the uboat type. |
