OMG This is driving me crazy!!!
 

Ahoy shipmates, well it would be if I could get the damn game working!
Have bought SH3 from ebay, and wouldn't install, as running Windows 7 64, no worries, bit of googling, common problem!!

Yeah right.


Have followed loads of so called fixes and none are working.


I see the install on this has been a problem for abput 15 years, now is there a one stop shop for all the fix downloads etc? I've managed to get the 1.4b patch, but cant find the rld-sh14.rar anywhere.



Please help!



Its driving me crazy, would love to play the game again(last time was when SH1 came out!!!)

Well, 1st things 1st: Did you install directly into the C: Drive?

If you installed into any of the "Program" files, SH3 will not work.

Save yourself the hassle and buy it on steam or what have you.

If what you bought has securom or safedisc on it, Win7 shut down secdrv in an update a few years ago which may prevent it from running.

You'll have to change secdrv so it isn't disabled.

If it has starforce, there is a mod to remove starforce.

If you installed to the normal install location, you'll have difficulty running the game or modding it because of windows protecting the folder and files.

Thanks to all who replied. After advice, I ended up downloading the game from steam and it works fine. Just trying to learn it now, and there’s a lot to pick up.
