Eloise Renyard and Mr Muggles are getting to know each other again.

A "skin and bones" cat found wandering around a town has been reunited with its owner after apparently living rough for six years.

Mr Muggles was a "big, chunky boy" when he disappeared from his Newmarket home in Suffolk at the age of about three.

After being spotted in the town, his photo was shared on social media and his owner recognised her missing moggy.

Owner Eloise Renyard said it was "instant recognition for us both" when the cat was returned to her.

Photos of a cat described as "skin and bones" were posted on social media.

Miss Renyard said there were sightings of Mr Muggles "from a distance", but he could not be enticed back home.

The veterinary nurse assistant moved across the border to Cambridgeshire two years later and her family had given up any hope of seeing their pet.

However, photos of a "skin and bones" stray cat shared on a Newmarket "lost and found pets" Facebook page last week piqued her interest.

"I saw him, and I was knew he was mine," she said.

Mr Muggles has finally come home and both he and the owner are happy!

Aw, that is great, I have a special love for cats, always had one or two from the early 70's. Great news for the owner especially recognizing each other after all these years.:yep:

Great story Gerald.

The cat left for a reason.

^Yep, it must have got fed up of having a thermometer shoved up its backside regularly, another thing, it must be the most useless hunter in England, that bloody moggie needs to be put down as its an embarrassment to the feline species.

Who knows but i'm guessing that he ran off for a reason. Probably the same reason she couldn't entice him to come back home when she would see him.

Probably fed him with McDonald's fast food crap!!

Not written it was her who saw the cat, so the latter refused to come close to a stranger. But always pick the worst theory.

Worst thing about having moggies was when they went missing... I always imagined them at the bottom some dark hole, unable to come home :(

Maybe I am jaded but i've had cats around all my life and not one of them ever got lost from home without something or someone being involved. :yep:
