How to completely remove all traces of SH4, FotRSU, etc
 

I had a FotRSU career become corrupted, leading me to delete the game, save files, mod, and Steam. I restarted the system and reinstalled each from scratch, yet when I began a new career (Tautog to Sagami Wan from Midway, 12/9/41), the previous TC limit of 4096 no longer applied. The game is not stock, however, as I encountered several ships unique to FotRSU. I continued the patrol and saved using the standard hygiene. Yet tonight the file refuses to load, getting stuck on the black screen repeatedly. It's the only patrol file, other than the ones for leaving port. I created a new career and patrol in hopes of a "hot start" to open the original patrol, but no luck.

Could someone walk me through how to remove every SH4-related file?

First uninstall sh4

make sure to check that all of the files have ben deleted in your wolves of pacific folder

sometimes the mods folder and so on dont get removed when uninstalling

then go to my documents and remove the sh4 folder
that is the folder where your save games are stored

Unfortunately I did all those things, along with deleting Steam. There may have been an old copy of FotRSU in the downloads directory, but unactivated, so it shouldn't be an issue, should it?

Is there anything in the registry or elsewhere that could affect this?

This is what I do to ensure a complete uninstall/wipe for either a fresh start or a complete nuclear eradication of an install.

To begin with, I use Your Uninstaller, to begin the process. It has an option to ensure removal of all folders/files, anything to do with a particular items installation, called 'Super Mode'. I run that 1st to completion.

Next, after that finishes up, I then turn to CCleaner, I start off with a general scan & clean... after that runs, I then go to the registry cleaner portion of it to ensure that any & all last vestiges of remains are eradicated.

After that is done, everything should be completed as to starting off with no trace of the install being left behind.

I then, reboot so as to allow the system to do its own housekeeping as to file structure & all things files/folders wise...
