What Was That TV Show?

It's driving me mad now... a UK series on BBC or ITV about S.O.E. type activities in occupied Europe... it was on TV in the 70s or 80s but it was NOT 'Secret Army' or 'Wish Me Luck'

At the start of each episode you had a view of a bomber's huge undercarriage wheel (from a camera rigged up inside the wheel-well) as the plane took off. Then the wheel slowly retracted as the aircraft rose off the runway, until of course the undercarriage doors closed and it all went black. Then the show would start

I'd really like to see this again... maybe get it on DVD... although I can't remember a thing about it except what I just described

Nothing in this fits your description, but in case your memory is fading... :D

Enemy at the Door?

EDIT: Maybe The Fourth Arm?

Dr. Who!

I'd considered... then discounted... both Enemy At The Door and Island At War, since these were both Channel Islands occupation dramas. The Fourth Arm looks like a possible candidate but all I can find of it on YouTube is a trailer which doesn't feature the opening or end credits

It doesn't appear to have been released on DVD either... I can't find it on Ebay... but thanks for you input, guys (it wasn't Dr Who either, Onkel Neal :haha:)

Benny Hill? That's my only input due to his skinny chicks that I liked. :D

Fourth Arm apparently opens with a flight scene across the English Channel.

Never officially released on DVD, copies are available, taken from VHS to DVD on several sites that I could see.

If it is Fourth Arm it is available in the UK from here: http://www.vintage-television.com/thefourtharm.html

Thanks. guys... I feel pretty sure now, given that description of flying over the Channel, that this is the show... even though the name still rings no bells

Anyway, I just sent off for it using the link kindly provided by Jim (thanks for that, Jim) as I have to have it now anyway, having seen the trailer and read about it

I'll let you know if it's the one!

Bloody hell! I hope it is :)

DVDs came today (4 discs) :yep:

So being a transfer from tape to disc it is pretty grainy... but since it's the only game in town I'm happy; after a couple of tots I shan't care anyway

Oh and it's definitely the series I was on about so thanks again, guys :yeah:
