Balloon ride over 100,000 feet

The commercial company Space Perspective will be offering, in the near future, a six hour balloon ride that will spend two hours at just over 100,000 feet

Tickets are also sky high at About $125,000

But that's only $0.80 per foot. :D

No way I can afford this
No way I would afford this

But it would be kinda cool.

No thanks, can't stand any height above thirty or so feet and especially not in a balloon.

And who knows maybe they will add some kind of a 100.000 miles club, in the future :D

There does not seem to be much privacy so the pilot would be involved. I doubt the onboard toilet will be big enough. :D

I'm still tempted to try the lawn chair and the weather balloons like Larry. :D

I'd do it but only if I am equipped with high altitude parachute gear.

Same here, I get pretty nervous in high places.

Reminds me a bit of Thomas Gatch. Interesting but tragic story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_Heart_(balloon)

He was last seen by a freighter thousands of miles off course, with his balloons damaged....he made no effort to signal the ship for help, and experts think he may have already been dead at the time of the last sighting.

The important things will be to make sure the balloons stay on course, and provide contingencies to prevent deflation.
