Screw Rotation, US Fleet Boats
 

THE Revell 1/72 Gato has the screws mounted as outward rotating (looking forward, starboard screw rotates clockwise, port screw rotates counter clockwise.) I had been under the impression that twin screws generally rotated inward. Who can point me in the direction to my question: Which is correct?

To the best of my knowledge they usually rotated inward but I'm no expert and someone may know of an example where that isn't the case.
