Question about screen captures and screen res

I have a 27" widescreen monitor with native res of 1920x1080, and I am used to see SH3 stretched, but when I take a screenshot using CTRL+F11, the screenshot appears in the regular size (1024x800) and not stretched...
I use the full window mode in SH3 settings but doesn't seem to have any effect, it's like SH3 displays in one res but underneath is working in another...

As you can see in the image, it is 1024x800 and it is not stretched as I see it on the screen

What can I do so the image on the screen is the same as the res I want SH3 to work at?
Thanks for your advice

Well, unless you are using a widescreen mod then the game renders in 1024x800. (or whatever the original resolution was back then) Your GPU or windows stretches this to full screen. But the underlying screendump is still the original size. So, seems nothing wrong with that. Stretching doesn't make it sharper anyway. You gain no detail. In fact, because of the difference in aspect ratio circles (like the periscope) will become flattened. If you must have it at 1920x1080 then stretch the file with an image editor program.

For what it's worth, downloading the image shown from imageshack makes it 941x706 in size.
