Damaged cruiser in port.

I am at the moment playing in the Monsun Mod, I went in to Bergan harbour for a refit, there were a lot of fishing vessels plus a few war ships.

On looking around on the free cam I noticed 3 cruisers lined up and one had a small damage fire at the stern.
Couldn't help wondering where that was from, was it from placing them close together in the mission or was it intentional by the modders?

It's a technical issue most probably. If this unit was added by the mod and the depth at that place was not deep enough, the ship will spawn and then explode or take heavy damage by being 'buried' in the ground for some seconds before appearing in the 3D world. A usual mistake by the modders adding units in ports at the wrong places.

Ah thanks XS, as usual you answered the puzzle.

It's my guess only. Based on early mods like OpenHorizons II in SH5 where this can happen.

If the winds pick-up, yes, docked ships will be damaged, no matter how close together they are. There is also the 'placement factor', where the RGG is placed for a GENERIC CL or CA, and one of the larger models then gets called, and it contacts the dock. ~BUT~ there is also the RAF and surface raiders that can and do come along and attack the Axis ports. Try leaving Lorient in the middle of an air raid sometime... :o
:arrgh!:

i agree with XS.
there is another unique situation similar to this in the Pacific campaign. i have experienced dropping off a spy, coastwatcher, commando, off an island while there are heavy waves. as the inflatable raft is heading towards shore it experiences a explosion.

That explosion was part of the "Top-Secret" directive, that if discovered, they cache would self-destruct... Heavy seas took its toll... but seriously, the life boat and its cargo were most likely "damaged" by the high seas, and at a certain "level" of destruction, "POOM!!!" goes the boat... Wait until it happens next to your submarine, and you take damage from it!... not cool! That's why I always try to be in slow reverse with a starboard rudder, so that the submarine goes away from the raft... :salute:

this is why you always flunk shiphandling.

the order is to 'back slow' not 'slow reverse'.:ahoy:
your crew needs a translator for the non-naval commands that you give them.

Not intentional at all ... often spawning issue.
Here it’s nothing compared to WAC 5.2 for instance, where each time coming back to harbor it’s a huge mess up, many ships docked probably wrong places and all in fire and smoke everywhere...
In fact, the less harbor traffic/life, the less troubles like that.
