I'm sure you have heard about this hot new internet meme, but what about the real people who just happen to have that given name? What if it was YOUR given name that was the butt of so many mean spirited jokes? Poor folks probably have enough to deal with in their lives without having to deal with the smirks and comparisons.

Yeah, true. There's just too much meanness in the world these days.

Yeah that name has become an unfortunate stereotype. People just don't understand that it could have very well been any of their own names. Its all fun and games until you are the one being picked on apparently, to them. I know someone named Karen, and she is not a bad person.

You talking about the Karen peoples in the area of Myanmar?

Having a name of a fictional character, I have been dealing with this pretty much all of my life.


It does get old.


It is not really the jokes that bother me, but it is that everyone thinks they are so clever and are the first ones to think it up. :nope:

For Pete's sake, its a sad world when any Tom, Dick, or Harry can take some average Joe or Jane's name, someone they don't know from Adam, and twist it around to something unpleasant; some people just don't know Jack about how to respect other people's names; mind you, Danny boy, they'll all come to look like right Charlies one day...
