Type XXI i games

Hi guys

I need to get my hands on some type XXI footage and its rather hard to come by. Then I thought that this submarine could be represented in some of the subsims - but which ones?

Can you help me with that information? And if someone could create some in-game footage it would be amazing (of course getting credited on my video once its done)

Thanks!

Are you looking for video games that have the Type XXI or are you looking for films of the Type XII or are you just looking for pictures/drawings?

There's a Type XXI in GWX

Let me add a little more background :D

I have a Youtube channel where I am writing a script to cover the design and contruction method of the type XXI.

Real (and available) video footage of a type XXI sailing is extremely limited, so I wondered if it would be possible to get high quality videos of a type XXI sailing submerged.

I think Jim's on it, the Type XXI in GWX is about as good as it gets.

Real footage submerged will be hard to come by.. but here's indeed a video showing one submerged and snorkeling :haha:

Guess a simulation will be better, almost impossible to film a real boat submerged considering light and depth of focus :hmmm:

Some sequences from 2:20 on, but not "real", of course:

They call it a "Walter" boat here (and of course the type XXI and XXIII boats were derived from those, but had conventional electric drive), but it is a type XXI, here in a SH 4 mod:

Some nice photos but no film..

While it performed well submerged and at sea due to its new form, it was hard to dock and manouver surfaced in cramped conditions like harbours; also sabotage and poor construction hampered the performance.

Those SH4 shots looks really good and since the hull designs are basically the same, they might be OK - or what do you guys think?
I does not HAVE to be a XXI, it just need to be a XXI looking hull :D

The SH3 may look too dated for my purpose, but maybe the SH4 footage will work...

The complication for me is that IF I use footage that someone else owns, Youtube will mark it as a copyright violation on my channel and if at all possible I would like to avoid that.

Hey Jimbuna, what mod are you using that turns the game into something like this:

I would appreciate it if you would tell me what mod it is, thanks.

^ GWX

It would not be a major feat to put a XXI into SH4.
Only need to do an AO burn on the SH3 version and place it into the XVII dat.

Just tried to start SH4 Gold edition, but cant seem to choose a type XVIII as a submarine...any pointers on what I need to do to play with that?
