Bones toggle Hide/View - how? (Goblin/Gr2 question)

Hi guys,

I got stuck on an issue, not a very big deal but being able to solve this would make my work much easier:

I'd like to make a bone that is set to be hidden (former Reflect bone) visible, in order to use it for another boat. Unfortunately, I can't find any option affecting this in GR2 Editor, and in Goblin there's a Toggle Hide/View option but id does not get saved - when file is saved and then loaded again, my second boat stays hidden.

I can make it the other way (Hide visible mesh) simply by setting opacity in GR2 editor to 0, but bone that was hidden stays hidden regardless of material properties.

Has anyone figured out how to do this?

@ kapuhy

Goblin Editor's toggle has only a temporary effect (you can't save a GR2 file within it). You can do it in GR2 Editor though. Let me check how. I will be back to you in a short while.

I will admit finding the visibility toggle setting took to me ten minutes or probably more, as it is hidden among many other settings, but at the end I managed locating it:

Go in the 'Bones' tab and thick the 'Show' checkbox, right click on the bone that you want to do invisible and select 'Edit' in the following tree view expand the 'ExtendedData' group, scroll down towards the end of the list, look for another group called 'MaxProperties and expand it. The property that you want to edit is the first one: 'Hide'; 0 = false (bone and relative mesh are visible), 1 = true (the bone and the mesh bound to it are invisible).

That's it :salute:

Thanks! :salute:

And for my first usage of this feature, here's coastal tanker with two lifeboats as per safety regulations (and they're gonna need them):
