What is SH4 SF?
I had to re-install SH4, for some reason I kept getting a CTD on startup, cleared my documents file but still it occurred so I decided to do a fresh install.
After I installed it I went to install the patch and got an error saying SH4 was not installed, but there it was on the hard drive, I even started it and it worked. I did notice though it was labelled Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific SF so what is SF, I'm sure that wasn't there before? So I'm about to uninstall again, see what happens. Col. |
Update:
Well this time everything went OK, got a fresh install and patched, I was wondering if the previous CTD's were caused through me trying various mods? I must learn how to do multi installs of it. Col. |
Update again:
I managed the multi installs, I tested out a few and they seem to work. I did one for playing about with mods and testing as well. Col. |
With the simple mod manager JSGME I don't need any multiple installs of the game, I can remove all mods with a single click and revert to my initial install. JSGME is also able to install an entire modlist for you that you have saved previously.
I don't know which version of the game you have, SF doesn't tell me anything (Maybe StarForce copy-protection?), but what i know is: for most of the mods you are going to need the latest game upgrade which is SH4 U-Boat Missions v.1.5. :Kaleun_Cheers:XS |
Hi, Yes I was using JSGME like you said, taking mods out etc plus removing any saved SH4 from my documents.
I was just guessing about some mods might have caused the CTD's, maybe some file got corrupted I'm not sure. On a side issue, I downloaded your torpedo mod, what a difference it made, I wondered if by some chance you had a mod to improve the armour on the player ship/sub? I had a mod a few years ago that gave me a kind of god mode, I know it wasn't real life but I had my young grandson staying and he played SH for a while and it was good because he never got killed, but for the life of me I don't know what it was and can't find it. Thanks for the reply. Col. |
