Man, I'd hate to be that Venezuelan Navy Captain having to account for the loss of his ship...

Add Maduro to the list of idiots.
Oh, he was already there, so sorry. :03:

Poetic justice me thinks :yep:

There is a picture of the navy ship that sank in the article linked to below.

Lesson of the story: not every David wins against a Goliath.

How the captain of a ship of that fragile any tiny size can assume it is a good idea to intentionally collide with a crise shop of the size of the German one in the picture in the article I posted, is beyond me. More cohones than brains, maybe?

It would of been wiser to fire a couple of rounds across the cruise ships bow but hindsight is a luxury after the event.

I'm guessing the VN skipper didn't know about the strengthened bow and had a generally low opinion of civilian ship construction and maybe an overinflated belief in the strength of his own tub. He probably should have gone down with her. I'll bet there is a short trial and a bullet to the back of the head awaiting him in Caracas.

^ with the general state of problems in Venezuela and Maduro I think you are right.

Even if the cruise ship had intentionally (did not happen) sailed into venezuelan waters (it did not sail into VN waters or violate any 'borders', which would be open anyway for cruise ships), there would have been no reason or justification for this kind of attack.. i wonder what was going on there.

The german foreign office has warned since january of travelling to Venezuela, it also urged any tourists to leave. Now ports and airports are closed.

Sounds like good advice. They are getting into Mad Max times down there and it's not going to get any better before it gets a lot worse.

perhaps el presidente Madura(note feminine ending) simply wished to commandeer a large vessel now that he's under indictment on U.S. Federal drug trafficking charges. Poor nitwit probably knows his sagging machismo jig is up...probably sooner than later, and maybe wanted to obtain transport to allied Cuba for his family and gangster cronies...

Jeff-Groves 04-03-20 03:48 PM

He's probably afraid Master Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Beckett is on his way down.
:o

Probably not: like the Brit WWII sniper plot to kill Hitler walking to his afternoon teahouse, it was decided that der fuhrer's incommpetence was an asset to the Allies, so no-go. Maduro is such and a default incompetent replacement for atrocious Chaves who died in office...so not his fault entirely! TrumpsBBY lets him live because it makes him look good...by comparison::haha:

It wouldn't surprise me if there is a public keelhauling.
